I researched and wrote this 'book' whilst at
university in 1997. Since then the odd friend and
mutual Nick Drake fan has asked for a copy of this
book. The last two who asked still don't have a
copy as my printer finally packed in. It was then
(2001) that I decided to publish it on the web, for
them and anyone else who is interested. I can't
make any guarantees to it's acuuracy. As far as I
know the official tunings died with Nick Drake in
1974. The only person who is known to have written
any down was Robert Kirby, who orchestrated many of
Nick's tracks. Whether he still has them is
unknown. I worked out the tunings within this book
by ear. Some of them corroberate with the notation
of others', some don't. A big thank you to Ken who
sold me the domain name last year. He had similar
intentions with the domain but decided he hadn't
time for the project. I thought I had, though as it
happens it's taken me a year to find the time, so
thanks for the patience! |
