There was an interesting programme on BBC4 tonight, featuring performances by singer-songwriters of the 70s (mostly from the Old Grey Whistle Test archives). Dory Previn, Ralph McTell, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, Roy Harper, Bobbie Gentry, Buffy Saint-Marie, Don McLean, Gordon Lightfoot and John Martyn amongst others. But I couldn't help but think of a certain singer-songwriter of the 1970s not featured who most surely should have been.
But that aside there were some nice performances. It might be available on BBC iPlayer. _________________ I have stolen a man

Really enjoyed the series. A particular highlight for me was The Pearl, by Judee Sill. I've been a fan of hers for a while now and I hadn't seen that footage before. Fantastic.
JCM - IIRC there were a couple of performances from Neil Young, but you'll probably have seen them before |
