Check out Dersekundenfaenger on youtube. This german 19 year old kid comes pretty close interpreting Nick's songs. Rider on the wheel gave me the goosebumps. Has he ever shown up on the forum or at the gathering?

He is indeed excellent. The whole song/s flow, a rare thing when people try and do Nick's songs. :D

He's been adding covers on a regular basis now and his recent additions are breathtaking:

Whoa, how impressive is this kid? He is amazing. Thank you Ostar for posting this. What a pleasure listening to these covers and to see what Nick's fingerpicking style might have looked like.

I could only link to the last two songs, but I have to say Nick's finger style didn't look like that - at least, not with the little finger anchored to the pick guard in that way. Nick's right hand fingers were all quite aerial, seeming to be in constant communication with eachother.

This lad's sound is good, though. A better guitar would really bring that out.

Yes, thank you for that information. I've read that he used all five fingers on the right hand but I've never seen anyone else do that. How unique is that, I wonder?

Meanwhile, I had to Google this young man's name to gain access to the youtube versions of his covers as the link's on this site didn't get me there.

I understand that Nick Drake was in bad shape at some point in his life, but nothing like that!
