Twenty-two years ago, I read a comment of musician Stephen Duffy. Duffy remarked that he had long admired Nick Drake, and that he even took the name for his band (The Lilac Time) from lyrics in Drakes song "River Man". The Lilac Time have long been my absolute favorite music makers. In my mind, they are truly one of--if not the--best ever. Instantly I researched this previously unknown Nick Drake person and his music... Stephen Duffy of the Lilac Time is not only brilliant, but he clearly has very good taste. The outcome of my purchasing "Fruit Tree" could not possibly have been better. Nicks stuff is gentle, mesmerising, and so many other adjectives. Just had to let all of you know.
