| I like a lot of post punk / new wave kind of stuff, Talking Heads, Television, Joy Division, Wire, Magazine and that kind of thing... also quite a bit of folky stuff, John Martyn, Pentangle, Fairport Convention etc.. In the modern music sphere I like quite a bit of alternative rock, some modern "free" folk (like Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart), a fair bit of electronic\ambient stuff... I'm not into metal or jazz in a big way, but most other stuff really! |

| Hi - Have you heard 'Tiny Cities' by Sun Kil Moon?? It's an album of Modest Mouse songs covered by Mark Kozelek - only you've never heard them quite like this before! Very highly recommended. |

| i have heard of the album but i don't know if i want to get it. i mean there is a huge difference between the modest mouse singer and the other singers and i like isaac's more real voice i think |

|

Hello
Any John Martyn fans out there? I am really grateful to him for introducing me to Nick Drake. Well to go back a bit further it was David Gray singing Go Down Easy, that got me listening to John Martyn and his album 'Solid Air', and we all know who the titletrack is about. So when I knew John Martyn wrote this song about his friend Nick Drake I had to listen to Nicks songs and was hooked from the very first listen. It seemed to fill a musical void that I never knew was there, a Nick shaped void.
Sorry gone off the subject its John Martyn I am applauding and exalting and his music and songs. Love 'May you Never'.
Thanks for your time. |
