| Of all of Elliott's albums Figure 8 is the one least related to Nick's style. There are a couple of really good fingerpicking tracks on Figure 8 though, Somebody I used to Know and Everything Reminds me of Her. There is a new cd of unreleased stuff called New Moon which is fantastic(released soon). If it's fingerpicking you're after then the earlier stuff was just Elliott and a guitar. My favourite of those is the self titled album, but they're all fantastic. Starting with xo, Elliott began to use larger Beatles-esque arrangements(very good too). Basically all of Elliott's albums are pretty good and people have personal likes and dislikes(loads of people like either/or but it's not really a favourite of mine-I always thought the drums sounded a bit rubbish on it). |

Same topic as on the other forum so...
There is one guy out there who I strongly believe is taking up where Nick left off.
Patrick Briscoe www.myspace.com/patrickbriscoe
Make sure you check out his videos on youtube too

Truly amazing guitarist and the new album, "Colours Will Fly" is one of those albums that changes your life for the better.
Saw him live with Jose Gonzalez a couple of years ago and have been following his progress ever since. Enjoy. |
