On November 26 2006 there was a Nick Drake-tribute in Almelo, a city in the eastern site of Holland. A couple of musicians played in a chappel from a former monestary, which is now part of a cultural place for dance, music and movie. The festival was amongst others mentioned on this page. The setlist and their performers was as follows:
Vincent Swierstra & Roy Groeneveld:
Things Behind The Sun
Strange Meeting II
Winter Is Gone
Three Hours
Blue Season
Remco Paalman:
Blues Run The Game
Things Behind The Sun
Flood (Jars Of Clay)
Martijn de Block:
What I See
Northern Sky
Voice Of A Mountain
Bernard Brogue:
Pink Moon
Living Without A Skin
Horn
Hangin’ On A Star
Roland v.d. Klooster & Paul op de Weegh:
Day Is Done
Way To Blue
Cello Song
Fruit Tree
Massey Parr:
Time Of No Reply
Man In A Shed
Chime Of A City Clock
River Man
Tow The Line
Northern Sky
From Te Morning
Johan Leugs:
Hazey Jane II
The Thoughts Of Mary Jane
Rider On The Wheel
Mayfair
Clothes Of Sand
If You Leave Me Pretty Mama
How Wild The Wind Blows
Joey
One Of These Things First
Leaving Me Behind
If It’s Strange Outside
As you can see they didn't just play songs from Nick, but also a couple of tracks that Nick also played or music inspired by Nick. It was a fine, pleasant evening with good music and a good audience. Personal favourite was Bernard Brogue. |
