I just want to say hello to all you lovely people out there- I hope to see some of you at the gathering, which I want to go to for the first time. Id like some details about it. Ive been a fan for many years; I play a few of his songs. As a classical guitarist, and lover of music and poetry, Id like to say that Nick Drake was an inventive and technically very good guitarist, and a writer of some wonderfully expressive songs which need much more than casual listening to be fully appreciated. Its just like with people
I think that he was very insecure about the quality of his work; he knew it's weaknesses, but perhaps he didn't appreciate its strengths. That's just my theory, anyway.
I'm practising Hazey Jane 1, Pink Moon, Time of no Reply, and At the Chime of a City Clock at the moment.
My aim is to let people hear, and see, songs performed which they would not often experience "live". I also do some Incredible String Band, amongst others. I'm coming over frim Ireland, where I'm based, to England for the summer, and hope to go to some nice folk festivals, etc. Recommendations please!
Love to all,
Peter Ozanne.
