Maybe of some interest - a 'minor' Nick Drake connection!
The former Angel Inn at Little Hadham, famously the home of Fairport Convention around 1969-70 is up for sale - see link below:

Nick Drake reportedly visited and stayed for 3-4 days here in early 1970 when he was rehearsing songs from Bryter Layter with Dave Pegg, Dave Mattacks & Richard Thompson.
If you watch the clip below you can clearly see that the rooms still have features which were visible in the 1970s when Fairport lived there - ie. the built in shelving in the corner of the room which Dave Swarbrick can be seen in at around 1m50s of the clip:

Also, as a point of interest - the new brickwork can clearly be seen on the exterior shot (behind the chevron sign) clearly marking the spot where the lorry crashed through the wall in 1971 nearly squashing fiddle player Dave Swarbrick! |

| For these who don't know this coming Friday, 14th Sept, there is a whole evening devoted to Fairport Convention, several programmes, on BBC4. |

Could Nick have been staying there at the time when this section of 'London Rock' was filmed?
I would like to imagine he was but was too shy to appear on camera with the other Fairports.
This part of the documentary seems to have been filmed in the summer of '70 and when Nick stayed it was in early '70 so he probably wasn't there then...one can dream though. |
